Junior Mike LeDuc posted a time of 24:48 to place 13th at the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championship, hosted by the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terry Haute, Ind., on Saturday. The finish earned LeDuc All-American status and set a program record for the highest finish at the national championship.

"Mike's tremendous race was a culmination of hard work he started way back in the summer and maintained throughout the fall season," head coach Jim Butler said. "As his coach, I couldn't be happier, and I am extremely proud of what Mike accomplished today."

LeDuc has garnered All-America accolades twice in the 3,000 meter steeplechase. He posted a school record time of 8:59.54 and finished fourth at the 2012 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championship, besting his 2011 finish by two spots. In June of 2012, LeDuc was named to the Capital One Academic All-America Men's Cross Country/Track & Field Third Team in Division III, as selected by The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

A botany major, LeDuc has been named to the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) All-Academic Team all three seasons of the 2011-2012 academic year. He also spoke at the opening of the College's new Science Center in August.
