Whittier College 14, Connecticut College 10 Lampley Tallies Four Goals and Seven Steals in Season Opener for Camels

WHITTIER, Calif.-The Connecticut College women's water polo team opened the 2012 season on the West Coast Tuesday with a close contest. The Whittier College Poets (10-10) posted their third straight win, outlasting the Camels in a 14-10 triumph. Junior Kristin Lampley (Reading, Pa.) netted four goals and grabbed seven steals to lead the Camels in the setback. Nicky Jasbon (Greenacres, Fla.) and Kate Jacobson (Collegeville, Pa.) both scored twice for the visitors in their collegiate debut. Senior captain Emily Hunter (Cheshire, Conn.) and Megan Wright (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) chipped in with scores for Connecticut College. Junior net-minder Pamela Lovejoy (Guilford, Conn.) made six saves in the cage. The Camels will continue their West Coast swing Wednesday when they visit Chapman University for a 4:00 p.m. match up in Orange, Calif.
