Vadas Tallies 12 Points & Eight Rebounds for Camels
HARTFORD, Conn.--The Trinity College men's basketball team earned its fourth straight win, a 70-53 victory against Connecticut College in the NESCAC opener for both sides.
Mick DiStasio (Yarmouth, Maine) poured in a game-high 13 points with four steals to lead the Bantams. Freshmen Carter Trent (Little Rock, Ark.) and George Papadeas (Athens, Greece) chipped in with 12 points each for the hosts.
After falling behind 47-25 at the break, the Camels were able to out-score the Bantams 28-to-23 in the second half.
Matt Vadas (Spring Lake Heights, N.J.), the reigning NESCAC Player of the Week, finished with 12 points, eight rebounds and three steals for Connecticut College. Mason Lopez (Hoboken, N.J.) added nine points in a 4-for-5 shooting performance for the Camels.
Boris Jeremic (Rijeka, Croatia) and Tyrone Turner (New York, N.Y.) netted seven points each for the visitors.
"Trinity is a strong team and they played well tonight," Connecticut College Head Men's Basketball Coach Tom Satran said. "We made too many mistakes with the ball to beat a team of their caliber."
The Camels will visit Amherst College Saturday for a 4:00 p.m. game in Western Mass.
