LeDuc Finishes Third in 5000 Meters at All-New England Championship Bolick Garners All-New England Honors with Seventh Place Finish in 1000 Meters

BOSTON, Mass.-Connecticut College sophomore Mike LeDuc (Canton, Conn.) and Kim Bolick (Hopkinton, Mass.) garnered All-New England (D. 1, 2, 3) Honors in record setting performances at Boston University for the Camels this weekend. In the 5000 meters, LeDuc placed third with a record setting time of 14:38.15. Alex Mavrovic (Thetford Mines, Quebec) held the previous record with a time of 14:45. LeDuc has moved into the mid-teens on the NCAA Performance list and will try to best his mark at the Eastern College Athletic Conference Championship this coming weekend in New York City. In the 500 meters, Ian Rathkey (Old Lyme, Conn.) set a personal record with a time of 1:07.25. With their six points, the Camel men finished in a 23rd place tie with the College of the Holy Cross. Bolick posted a time of 2:58.52 en route to her seventh place scoring in the 1000 meters, besting her previous record of 3:01.06. In the 500 meters, Sarah Matthews (Westwood, Mass.) eclipsed her previous school record with a time of 1:18.55. In the 5000 meters, Lianne Swanson (Franklin, Mass.) posted a time of 19:26.16. Sara Gildersleeve (Sharon, Mass.) recorded a time of 8.17 seconds in the 60 meter dash. The Camel quartet comprised of Gildersleeve, Bolick, Michelle Wesley (Millwood, N.Y.) and Matthews posted a time of 4:06.68 in the 4x400 meter relay. It was the fastest run of the year in this relay and just a fraction of a second behind the school record. The Camel women tied Merrimack College in 32nd place with their two points.
