Camels Erupt with Three Goals in Opening 5:09 of Play
WATERVILLE, Maine --(Colby College Sports Information)Connecticut College scored three goals in the opening 5:09 of play on the way to a 4-1 victory over Colby College in New England Small College Athletic Conference women's hockey Saturday at Alfond Rink.
Jen Morgan (Orange, Conn.) scored her first collegiate goal at 2:14 from Katelyn Driscoll (Peabody, Mass.) to give the Camels (5-5-2 overall, 3-4-1 NESCAC) a 1-0 lead.
Ariel DiPasquale notched her sixth goal of the season at 4:51 from Courtney Dumont (Lewiston, Maine) and Olivia Farrell (New York, N.Y.). The Camels made it 3-0 just 18 seconds later when Driscoll scored her first goal of the season from Lauren Posillico (Nesconset, N.Y.).
Grace Dickinson (Northfield, Ill.) took over in net for Colby after the third goal and went on to allow just one goal and make 34 saves.
The Mules cut the lead to 3-1 with the lone goal of the second period. Natalie Fischer scored the first goal of her career at 16:56 from Maddy Borek (Durham, N.H.) and Sylvia Xistris (Larchmont, N.Y.).
Connecticut College had another player score their first collegiate goal when Amelia Dineen (Arlington, Mass.) closed out the scoring at 8:22 of the third period from Andrea McRae (Stittsville, Ontario).
Camel goaltender Amy Leichliter (West Chester, Pa.) stopped 25 shots.
