Frederick Lynch´s ´Visual Inquiries´ at Connecticut College Jan. 26 - Feb. 26

NEW LONDON, Conn. - Connecticut College´s Art Department is proud to present Frederick Lynch´s "Visual Inquiries," an explorative exhibition, Jan. 26 - Feb. 26 in the galleries of the Cummings Arts Center. An abstract artist, Lynch uses repeated geometries and mathematical divisions to create patterns of branching, veining of leaves and molecular systems that explore a multitude of visual possibilities.

"I spend most of my time combining things that I remember and imagine with things that I see and feel, translating all this into images that I want to look at. My intention is beauty; my goals are pleasure and joy," Lynch said. Lynch´s pieces are held in collections at the Portland Museum of Art, the De Cordova Museum, the Farnsworth Art Museum and other prominent museums throughout the nation. On Feb. 24 at 4:15 p.m., Lynch will give a lecture on his exhibition in Cummings Arts Center. There will be a reception immediately following the lecture. The exhibition hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m.
