Visiting Lecturer
The Department of Chemistry at Connecticut College invites applications for a full-time visiting position at the rank of lecturer for the academic year 2023-2024, with the possibility of renewal for an additional year. The successful candidate will teach lab sections for biochemistry, and organic or general chemistry. Some lab sections are taught in the evening. Other responsibilities include lab set-up and some shared responsibilities for purchasing and overseeing department chemicals and supplies. The teaching load for a visiting lecturer is 3/3, with no expectation of research. This is a benefits eligible position.
The department offers ACS-certified majors in chemistry and biochemistry, as well as an interdisciplinary major in biochemistry, cellular and molecular biology. The College seeks outstanding teachers who are committed to student learning and will effectively engage students in both group and one-on-one instruction. MS degree or higher in chemistry or biochemistry is required and teaching experience at the undergraduate level is strongly preferred.
