Rachel  Feldman

Rachel Feldman joined Connecticut College in 2019 as the Visiting Director of Choral Activities. This is also her second year as the Interim Director of Choral Ensembles at Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, MA. Recent engagements include Mount Holyoke’s annual Vespers concert in Boston and preparing William Walton’s Belshazzar's Feast. 

Professor Feldman is an active clinician with middle and high school students. For two summers she served on the faculty of Westminster Choir College’s Summer High School Vocal institute where she conducted the treble choir and taught music history and aural skills. Other recent festivals include Connecticut’s Eastern Regional High School Treble Choir, and the Quinebaug Valley Middle School Festival in Plainfield, CT. 

As an active professional singer, Professor Feldman has performed extensively as a chorister and soloist throughout the east coast. She currently sings with the Philadelphia Symphonic Chorus, the professional choir for the Philadelphia Orchestra. Other recent solo work includes Joby Talbot’s Path of Miracles, Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater, and Haydn’s Lord Nelson Mass.

A recent graduate of Westminster Choir College, Professor Feldman was the youngest graduate assistant of the world-renowned Westminster Choir. During the choir’s 2018-2019 season, she assisted on tours throughout China and Texas, ACDA’s national conference, and the Spoleto Festival USA. As a member of the Westminster Symphonic Choir she performed frequently with the Philadelphia Orchestra and New York Philharmonic including 13 performances of Handel’s Messiah over the course of two years. 

Professor Feldman received her bachelor’s in music from the University of Connecticut in 2017 and her master’s in choral conducting from Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ in 2019.
