Dear Members of the Connecticut College Community,
I am pleased to let you know that trustee Debo P. Adegbile, from the class of 1991, has today been named by President Barack Obama to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights.
His appointment to this important nonpartisan commission is a reflection of his impressive achievements in his life and career. It also demonstrates the fulfillment of our mission as a College, in producing future leaders committed to creating a better world.
Debo currently serves as the Vice Chair of the Connecticut College Board of Trustees and is a litigation partner at WilmerHale in New York City. Previously, he served in executive positions in government and with the NAACP. He has received numerous honors for his work in civil rights, law and the academy. You can read more about him and this new position on the College's website.
Please join me in congratulating Debo Adegbile '91 for this achievement.
Yours,
Katherine Bergeron
President
