Comer, a classics and philosophy double major and scholar in the Eye of the Mind Pathway from Shenandoah, Virginia, will teach English at a school in Athens, Greece. She looks forward to developing interactive English lessons for students that are connected to Greek history.
Fulbright Fellowship English Teaching Assistantship to Kazakhstan
Graham is a psychology and Slavic studies double major from Ann Arbor, Michigan. She will be teaching at a university in Kazakhstan, where she hopes to start a music club or otherwise infuse music in her work.
Fulbright Fellowship English Teaching Assistantship to Uganda
Hattan, a sociology major from Yarmouth, Maine, will teach at the U.S. Embassy’s American Center in Kampala, Uganda. At the American Center, Hattan plans to draw on her experiences as a business development intern for a Tanzanian public health company to lead grant-writing workshops. She also hopes to share her love of reading by leading a feminist book club.
Fulbright Fellowship English Teaching Assistantship to Romania
Mahoney, a Slavic studies major and Italian studies, linguistics and government triple minor from Franklin, Massachusetts, will teach at a school in Romania. She hopes to learn some of the Romanian language during her Fulbright fellowship, and start a movie club at the school where she will teach.
Fulbright Fellowship English Teaching Assistantship to Germany
Nozaki is a computer science major, psychology and German double minor and scholar in the College’s Toor Cummings Center for International Studies and the Liberal Arts (CISLA) from Barrington, Rhode Island. He will be teaching at a school in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. In Germany, Nozaki plans to work with his students on enhancing their digital literacy. Additionally, as an Asian-American who has helped lead panels at Conn on the Asian-American experience, he hopes to continue discussions about issues affecting Asian communities in Germany.
Fulbright Fellowship English Teaching Assistantship to Bulgaria
Rancourt, a Slavic studies and history double major from Hopkinton, Massachusetts, earned a certificate from the College’s Holleran Center for Community Action and Policy. She will be teaching at a school in Pernik, Bulgaria, where she will also coach the school’s BEST (Bulgarian English Speech Tournament) team.
Fulbright Fellowship English Teaching Assistantship to Germany
Tubb, an English and German studies double major and CISLA scholar from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, will teach at a school in the northern German state of Schleswig-Holstein. He says the Fulbright is the perfect way to combine his interests in German language and culture and teaching.
Prescia has been awarded a Thomas J. Watson Fellowship by the Watson Foundation to embark on a year of international discovery and exploration of the funding, production and distribution of documentaries that inspire environmental justice and social activism. An anthropology major and film studies and environmental studies double major from Pueblo, Colorado, Prescia will travel to Brussels, Belgium; Taipei, Taiwan; New Delhi, India; and Mexico City, Mexico. She will spend three months in each location to immerse herself in different aspects of global filmmaking and explore how people across the globe use documentaries to illuminate important stories that advance social and environmental justice.
