The women’s water polo team won its first league championship with a commanding victory at home over three-time defending champion Grove City College last weekend. The Camels beat the Wolverines 6-3 to extend their win streak to 11 matches heading into the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Eastern Championship, which begins Friday at the University of Michigan.

The CWPA awarded Nicky Jasbon ’14 Most Valuable Player honors, while Coach JJ Addison was honored as Coach of the Year. Jabson and teammate Kristin Lampley ’13, a 2012 All-American, were named First Team All-Conference.

The Camels, ranked No. 8 in Division III, will take on Brown University at The University of Michigan in Ann Arbor at 2 p.m. on April 26. The winner of the Eastern Championship gets an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
