NEW LONDON, Conn. - One in Four, Inc., a 10-year-old non-profit organization that provides rape prevention programming to colleges, military bases and community organizations, will now be headquartered on the Connecticut College campus.

Known for its research-driven sexual assault prevention programming, One in Four currently offers the only program in the history of rape prevention education designed to change men´s sexually coercive behaviors. Boasting 40 campus-based chapters, One in Four also manages the national "One in Four RV Tour," a nine-month RV tour to 50 college campuses and military bases during which four recent college graduates spread the organization´s message from coast to coast.

While the 10-year-old organization was previously located in Williamsburg, Va., the group already has a Connecticut presence, with One in Four chapters at Yale University and the United States Coast Guard Academy. With their new partnership, One in Four hopes to work with more of Connecticut´s universities and colleges in an effort to reduce instances of sexual assault.

"We have a lot to offer the colleges and universities in the state of Connecticut and surrounding areas," Adam R. Lalor, executive director of One in Four, said. "With Connecticut College, we look forward to continuing to make a difference both locally and nationally."

Situated on the coast of southern New England, Connecticut College is a highly selective private liberal arts college with 1900 students from all across the country and throughout the world. On the college´s 750-acre arboretum campus overlooking Long Island Sound, students and faculty create a vibrant social, cultural and intellectual community enriched by diverse perspectives. The college, founded in 1911, is known for its unique combination of interdisciplinary studies, international programs, funded internships, student-faculty research and service learning.
