Connecticut College faculty to perform ´Music for Piano and Winds´ Sept. 20

NEW LONDON, Conn. - The Connecticut College Department of Music will present a faculty recital featuring Assistant Professors of Music Rebecca Noreen, Libby Van Cleve and Thomas Labadorf at 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, in Evans Hall, Cummings Arts Center, at Connecticut College.
Noreen (bassoon), Van Cleve (oboe) and Labadorf (clarinet), along with flutist Peter Standaart, French hornist Robert Hoyle and pianist Erika Schroth, will present a diverse concert of piano and wind music. Featured on the program is a jazzy trio for oboe, bassoon and piano by Bill Douglas, balanced with two sextets by Jean Francaix and Francis Poulenc. The program concludes with Mozart's "Quintet for Piano and Winds," a pianistic tour de force featuring Schroth.
