Camels Garner Team & Individual Academic Honors from IWLCA

Eliza Greenman ยด08 Was One of Four Camels Named to the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll

NEW LONDON, Conn.--The Connecticut College women´s lacrosse team continues to score high marks in the classroom. The Camels have been honored with the team academic award from the Intercollegiate Women´s Lacrosse Coaches Associations (IWLCA). In addition to the team honor, seniors Lindsey Coit (South Portland, Maine), Diana Coyne (West Hartford, Conn.), Ashley Faber (Cohasset, Mass.), and Eliza Greenman (Middletown, R.I.) were named to the Division III Academic Honor Roll.

The Camels were one of 56 teams recognized in Division III to carry a mean grade point average of 3.0 or higher. To be named to an academic honor roll, a player must have achieved junior year status and carry a minimum gpa of 3.2.

Head coach Heather McClelland was pleased with her team´s performance on the field and in the classroom and is looking ahead to an exciting 2009 season.

"I´m proud of this team for the hard work they put in everyday," McClelland said. "Our players have a very good sense of balance and they have their priorities in line to be successful."

The Camels made significant strides in the closing weeks of the 2008 season, notching wins in three of their last five games. McClelland will welcome the return of three of her top five scorers in 2009, including IWLCA All-Region standout Emily Mason (Williamstown, Mass.).
