NEW LONDON, Conn.--The Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) announced its 2007-2008 Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll for NCAA Division III. Connecticut College finished 19th in the nation with a team grade point average of 3.40. The WBCA honored teams throughout the nation that carried the highest grade point averages (GPA) for the 2007-2008 season based upon nominations submitted by WBCA-member head coaches.
Head coach Laura Hungerford was impressed with her team´s academic achievement and commitment in the classroom.
"This is the second year in a row we have reached the top 25," Hungerford said. "I am extremely proud of my players as we not only look to excel on the court but also in the classroom. Their overall team GPA speaks for the dedication the team has to accomplishing goals and the hard work and commitment they have."
