Drake Finishes 4th in 1500, Eclipes his School Record at All-New England Championship

DURHAM, N.H.--Connecticut College senior Keith Drake (Norwich, Vt.) finished fourth in the 1500 meters at the New England Outdoor Track and Field Championship hosted by the University of New Hampshire, eclipsing his own school record with a time of 3:53.70. Drake´s performance in the Granite State improved his ranking on the list of provisional qualifiers for the 2008 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championship.
Sophomore Alex Samma (Ougadougou, Burkina Faso) enhanced his position in the provisional pool of NCAA qualifiers for the triple jump, placing fifth with a mark of 46 feet, 8 and 3/4 inches. As a team, the Camels tallied nine points at Saturday´s championship.
Senior Emily Ricketson (Holliston, Mass.) shattered her previous personal record in the 5k, finishing 23rd in a time of 18:28.67. Laura Nadelberg (New Providence, N.J.) was 17th in the javelin with a throw of 106 feet, 3 inches. In the long jump, sophomore Margaret Thayer (Littleton, Colo.) covered a distance of 15 feet, 1 ½ inches to finish in 23rd place for Connecticut College.
