NEW LONDON, Conn.--Connecticut College senior Lauren Brug of Ventura, Calif. has been named to the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) All-North Team as a second team selection.

Brug exploded with a career-high 56 goals this spring, leading the Camels to a 4-3 record in league play. At the Northern Division Championship, Brug tickled the twine for 13 scores, leading the Camels to a fourth place finish. This is the second straight year Brug has been tabbed to the All-North team.

Brug netted a team-high 25 goals for the Camels in 2007. She has been voted the team´s most valuable offensive player in each of the past two seasons.

Brug has enjoyed tremendous success in the classroom as a Dean´s List Student with High Honors. As part of the Museum Studies Certificate program, Brug will receive her degree in History and American Studies to go with a minor in Religious Studies. On campus, Brug serves in a leadership capacity as a Housefellow, managing and overseeing the operation of a residence hall.

Head coach JJ Addison was impressed with Brug´s conference honor and continued commitment to the success of the program.

"Lauren came to us as a driver and has worked hard to become a dominant force at center," Addison stated. "Her presence cannot be ignored by any other team and she is critical to the success of our own."
