Camel Women Earn 5-4 NESCAC Triumph at Bates Heupel, Coleman and McManus Post Singles Matches Victories for Camels

LEWISTON, Maine. --The Connecticut College women´s tennis team picked up a 5-4 victory against Bates College in NESCAC women´s tennis action played in Lewiston Saturday. The Camels improve to 7-9 overall and 2-4 in league play while the Bobcats drop to 1-4 in league play (4-10). Freshman Becca Heupel (Eden Prairie, Minn.), Danielle Coleman (Westfield, N.J.) and Ryan McManus (Marblehead, Mass.) earned singles victories in their respective spots at #1, #4 and #5 singles for the victors.

Heupel and McManus combined on an 8-1 victory at #2 doubles for head coach Paul Huch´s Camels. The Camel men (3-13, 0-7) dropped a 9-0 decision to Bates (12-3, 3-2). Andrew Watts (West Chester, Pa.) and Reid Larsen (Watertown, Mass.) dropped a closely contested 8-6 decision at #2 doubles in the setback.
