ORLANDO, Fla.--Ryan Hayes (Darien, Conn.) scored two goals and assisted on two addition tallies, leading Connecticut College (2-2) to a 7-4 victory against Salve Regina University (1-3) at the Disney Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando Wednesday. Hayes had a hand in each of the final four goals for Connecticut College, enabling the Camels to build a four-goal fourth quarter advantage from what was a tie game at the half.

Ben Eischen (Brookfield, N.H) and Steve Dachille (Garden City, N.Y.) had two goals apiece and Jesse Stevenson (Marshfield, Mass.) dished out a pair of assists in the victory. Senior Peter Musser (Lafayette, Calif.) won seven of 10 faceoffs for head coach Dave Cornell´s Camels.

Robert Hoffman (Spring Lake Heights, N.J.) had two goals and two assists for Salve Regina. Junior Brian Walker (Marshfield, Mass.) kept the Seahawks in the game with a phenomenal effort between the pipes, finishing with 19 saves and four ground balls for Salve.

The Camels took a 3-1 lead in the second quarter when Brendan Moses (Medfield, Mass.) dished to Eric Doran (Pennington, N.J.) for a goal with 8:21 remaining. But the Seahawks countered by netting the next two goals just 51 seconds apart. Ryan Comerford (Merrimac, N.H.) scored on an assist from Hoffman with 4:23 to play, trimming the Camel lead to a single goal. With 3:32 remaining, Hoffman put in the equalizer and the teams were locked in a 3-3 tie at the half.

In the third quarter, Hayes was everywhere, dodging, dishing, riding, or collecting one of his five ground balls. With 10:06 to play, Hayes connected with Eischen for a goal to make it a 4-3 game. Later on in the quarter with 7:48 remaining in an extra man situation, Hayes dished to Dachille for a score and it was a 5-3 contest. Hayes capped off the third with an unassisted goal and the Camels had built a sizable 6-3 lead. Hayes added another score with 10:44 remaining in regulation, and Connecticut College had its largest lead of the contest at 7-3.

Hoffman got one back from the Seahawks but the Camel defense took care of the rest. Mark Moran (Greenwich, Conn.) had nine saves in the victory.

The Camels will play Williams College this Saturday at noon in Sylvan Lake Park at Sanford, Florida.
