Connecticut College professor to give keynote address at the 102nd annual meeting of the Classics Association of New England

NEW LONDON, Conn. - Richard Moorton, professor of classics at Connecticut College, will give a keynote lecture, "Tragedy without the Polis: Eugene O´Neill´s Theater of Exile," March 13 at the 102nd annual meeting of the Classics Association of New England, hosted by Connecticut College.

Moorton, editor of "Eugene O´Neill´s Century: Centennial Views of America´s Foremost Tragic Dramatist," will discuss the relationship between ancient Greek tragedy and the modern tragic drama of O´Neill at 7:30 p.m. in the Ernst Common Room, Blaustein Humanities Center at Connecticut College. The lecture is free and open to the public.

Moorton´s lecture will open the 102nd annual meeting of The Classical Association of New England, which promotes the study of Classical Greek and Roman writings and civilizations in high school and college.
