Surging Camels Travel to Amherst for NESCAC Quarterfinal Contest

The Connecticut College men´s hockey team will make its second consecutive appearance in the NESCAC Championship. In 2007, the Camels went 3-0-1 in their last four regular season games, locking up their first NESCAC Playoff Berth. The 2007-2008 Camels have won five of their last six and are 6-2 in the month of February. Under the direction of head coach Jim Ward, the Camels secured their first winning season in NESCAC play (9-8-2).
The Camels have been executing their penalty kill to perfection, skating off 28 of their last 29 infractions at an astounding 97% clip. Sophomore Greg Parker (Trenton, Ont.) continues to turn heads with his acrobatic play in between the pipes. Parker carries a 2.94 goals against average and a .915 save percentage into Saturday´s game at Amherst. In the last six games, the sophomore net-minder has stopped 169 of 180 shots (.938) compiling a 1.82 goals against average.
Junior Robbie Tesar (Lake Bluff, Ill.) is enjoying a breakout season and ranks fourth in the league with 18 assists. Tesar has tallied a team-high 23 points. Senior tri-captain Rob Campbell (Reading, Mass.) is seventh in NESCAC scoring with his team-high 11 goals. Campbell has amassed 41 goals, 40 assist and 81 points in his career.
First-year forward Ryan Riffe (South Berwick, Maine.) is third among NESCAC freshman with 17 points (9 goals, 8 assists). Jordan Gray (Mississauga, Ont.) is sixth in scoring among first year players with 14 points (6 goals, 8 assists). Sophomore Trevor Bradley (West Hartford, Conn.) has tallied eight goals and nine assists. Sophomore Brian Warner (Waltham, Mass.) ranks seventh in NESCAC scoring for defensemen with 17 points (5 goals, 12 assists).
