Connecticut College alumnus to discuss green business solutions March 6

NEW LONDON, Conn. - Tedd Saunders, a 1983 Connecticut College graduate, co-owner and executive vice president of the Saunders Hotel Group and president of EcoLogical Solutions Inc., will discuss strategies for creating profitable and environmentally sound businesses March 6 at 7 p.m. in the Blaustein Humanities Center room 210 at Connecticut College.
Saunders, who also serves as the director of environmental affairs for the Saunders Hotel group, is the author of "The Bottom Line of Green is Black," a book about green business practices.
Often credited with pioneering luxury urban ecotourism worldwide, Saunders has created some of the most acclaimed environmental models in the hospitality industry. He began to implement this innovative business approach in 1989 at his family´s historic hotel properties, including the historic Lenox in Boston´s Back Bay. Today, Saunders speaks regularly to business and political leaders around the world and sits on numerous boards, including Harvard´s School of Public Health, Ceres, the Union of Concerned Scientists´ National Advisory Board, The New England Aquarium and The Woods Hole Research Center.
The lecture is free and open to the public and is sponsored by Connecticut College´s Goodwin-Niering Center for Conservation Biology and Environmental Studies and the Office of Alumni Relations.
