Connecticut College music faculty present ´None But The Lonely Heart´ March 4

NEW LONDON, Conn. - The Connecticut College Music Department will present "None But The Lonely Heart," a faculty concert featuring romantic music by Russian composers, March 4 at 8 p.m. in the college´s Harkness Chapel.
Soprano Jurate Švedaite-Waller and baritone Maksim Ivanov, both adjunct professors of music at Connecticut College, will perform romances, arias and duets by Russian composers, including Mikhail Glinka, Pytor Ilyich Tchaikovsky and Sergei Rachmaninoff. Kumi Ogano, a pianist and Connecticut College adjunct instructor music, will accompany.

About the Performers
A radiant Lithuanian soprano, Jurate Švedaite-Waller has performed throughout Europe and the United States with the Lithuanian National Chamber Orchestra, the European Baroque Festival Opera, Connecticut Lyric Opera, Kaunas Chamber Orchestra, Connecticut Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra, the Lithuanian National Ensemble "Lietuva" and the Mystic River Chorale.
Baritone Maksim Ivanov has performed with such companies as Glimmerglass Opera, the Lyric Opera of Kansas City, Connecticut Grand Opera, Opera Theatre of Connecticut, Opera Providence, Boheme Opera of New Jersey, Sanibel Music Festival and Ash-Lawn Highland Festival.
Pianist Kumi Ogano has entered universal acclaim as one of the authoritative performers of music by Japanese composers Toru Takemitsu and Akira Miyoshi. Since her debut, Ogano has appeared with numerous major orchestras in Japan and Europe and has performed frequently in recitals and on radio and television throughout Japan, Belgium, Norway, Hungary, Poland, UK and the USA.
