Connecticut College to host "Tsunami Tuesday" panel discussion Feb. 4

Panel discussion is first in year-long series surrounding the 2008 election
NEW LONDON, Conn. - Just one day before "Tsunami Tuesday," when 24 states will hold caucuses or primaries, faculty members from the Connecticut College Department of Government will participate in a panel discussion titled, "Anticipating the Tsunami: Selecting the 2008 Presidential Nominees … In February."
The discussion, which will be moderated by Government Department Chair William Rose, is Feb. 4 at 4:30 p.m. in the Ernst Common Room in the college´s Blaustein Humanities Center. The discussion is free and open to the public and will be followed by a question and answer session.
Each of the three panelists will discuss a particular issue. William Frasure, professor of government, will give a talk, "The Republican Campaign: Murkier than Usual." Dorothy James, professor of government, will speak about, "The Democratic Campaign: High Hopes, Long Road," and MaryAnne Borrelli, associate professor of government, will discuss, "Presidential Politics as Identity Politics: Recognizing the ´Presidential´ Candidates."
This panel discussion is the first part of the Government Department´s year-long series on the 2008 election.
