Tufts University 5, Connecticut College 3 Warner Tallies Two Assists for Camels

Brian Liamero and the Camels will Visit UMass Dartmouth for a 7:30 p.m. Game in New Bedford Tuesday Night

MALDEN, Mass. - Tufts University (3-3-1, 2-2-1) topped Connecticut College (1-5-2, 1-2-2) 5-3 in a NESCAC men´s hockey game played in Malden Saturday afternoon. Dylan Cooper (Colorado Springs, Colo.) and Andy Davis (Woburn, Mass.) each contributed a goal and an assist for the Jumbos. Lindsay Walker (Castlegar, B.C.) had three assists from the Jumbos, who rallied back from a 3-2 deficit to pull out the victory.

Brian Warner tallied two assists for the Camels. Ryan Howarth (Grand Blanc, Mich.), Brian Liamero (New York, N.Y.) and Robbie Tesar (Lake Bluff, Ill.) scored goals for Connecticut College.

James Kalec (East Amherst, N.Y.) stopped 34 shots for Tufts. Sophomore net-minder Greg Parker (Trenton, Ont.) had 36 saves for the Camels. Connecticut College took its first lead, 2-1, at 15:07 of the second period. Robbie Tesar potted his first goal of the season on the power-play. Ryan Riffe (South Berwick, Maine) and Warner assisted on the go-ahead score.

After the Jumbos tied the game, Brian Liamero contributed another power play tally with just 1:04 left in the frame. Ryan Joyce (Dorchester, Mass.) assisted and the Camels had a 3-2 lead after two periods of play. But Ross Gimbel (Ann Arbor, Mich.) tallied the equalizer for Tufts with 16:58 remaining. Andy Davis put the Jumbos on-top with what would prove to be the game winner at 12:13 of the third. Dylan Cooper added an insurance 1:06 later and the Jumbos were able to hold on for the 5-3 victory.

Connecticut College will travel to New Bedford, Massachusetts this Tuesday night for a 7:30 p.m. game against UMass-Dartmouth.
