NEW LONDON, Conn. --Connecticut College senior Winslow Robinson of Stratham, New Hampshire has been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Soccer Team. A two-year captain for the Camels, Robinson´s game-winning header against Tufts University October 27 clinched the program´s first post-season berth in seven years.
Robinson played an instrumental role in leading and managing one of the youngest teams in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC). The Camels went 1-0-2 in their final three regular season conference games, earning the #7 seed in the 2007 NESCAC Championship Tournament. A 2006 member of the NESCAC All-Academic Team, Robinson has invested a significant amount of his time off the field to promote good sportsmanship on the Connecticut College Campus.
Robinson will receive his psychology degree this spring. He is also receiving a minor in Latin American Studies from Connecticut College. Head coach Bill Lessig commended Robinson for his contributions to the program.
"Win is competitive on the field, in the classroom and as a leader on campus wide committees," Lessig stated. "He has met the challenges Connecticut College presents to its student body and he has taken charge far beyond expectations. Win has set the bar high for those to follow and for him there is no finish line."
