NEW LONDON, Conn.--On the heels of their second consecutive 20 win season, the Camel volleyball program is receiving some post-season recognition. Junior outside hitter Caitlin Tomaska of Solana Beach, California has been honored as first team selection to the All-New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Volleyball Team. Tomaska has also been named to New England Women´s Volleyball Association (NEWVA) All-Region Team as a second-team selection. Amy Crespi (Weymouth, Mass.) has been honored as a NEWVA Senior All-Star and will play in the All-Star game this Sunday at Endicott College in Beverly, Massachusetts.

Tomaska is making her third consecutive appearance on the All-NESCAC team and is rewriting the Connecticut College volleyball record book in the process. This season, Tomaska set the school mark for kills and was the first Camel volleyball player to top 1000 kills and digs in a career. She has amassed 1040 kills and 1,117 digs in her three-year career. Tomaska finished the season ranked third in NESCAC kills with (3.87 kills per game) and was fourth in service aces (.66 aces per game). Head coach Josh Edmed was pleased with Tomaska´s performance and looks forward to having her back on the court for another season.

"Caitlin has once again had an incredible season for us," Edmed stated. "She sets the tone for our team in practice with a relentless work ethic and has really become a great leader for the program. Her hard work and determination continue to pay off as she is a motivating force behind our team's success. I know Caitlin will be very humbled by these honors and that is just a testament to the type of team player she is."

A two-year captain with the program, Amy Crespi has been an exemplary leader on and off the court for the Camels. Crespi tallied 381 kills, 546 digs and 128 blocks over the course of her career. She contributed a season-high 16 digs against the Coast Guard October 6 and erupted with nine kills in a 3-0 blanking of Bridgewater State College September 22. A 2006 member of the NESCAC All-Academic team, Crespi has been equally impressive in the classroom, maintaining Dean´s List grade point average. Crespi will earn her English degree this spring to go along with a minor in psychology.
