NESCAC Quarterfinal: Connecticut College 3, Wesleyan University 0 Tomaska´s 16 Kills and 14 Digs Propels Camels to Victory

AMHERST, Mass.--For the second consecutive year, the Connecticut College volleyball team has advanced to the semifinal round of the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Championship Tournament field. The Camels (20-7) notched their 20th victory of the season Friday night, sweeping Wesleyan University (17-8) with game scores of 30-17, 34-32, and 30-26.

Junior co-captain Caitlin Tomaska (Solana Beach, Calif.) exploded with 16 kills, 14 digs and two aces in the victory. Meg Christman (Wilmington, Del.) chipped in with 14 kills and three blocks. Sophomore libero Maddy Baldwin (Los Altos, Calif.) contributed 19 digs for the Camels. Marissa DeMais (Hillsdale, N.J.) dished out 40 assists for the winning side.

The Camels will meet top seeded Amherst College (26-3) in a 1:00 p.m. match-up Saturday afternoon. The Camels earned a 3-2 victory against the Lord Jeffs back on October 13 in the only meeting between these two teams this fall.

Head coach Josh Edmed is looking forward to Saturday´s action.

"We´re 2-0 on Amherst´s court this season so we look forward to the challenge in tomorrow´s match."
