#9 Williams 2, Connecticut College 0 Lane Stops Penalty Kick, Records Five Saves for Camels

September 15, 2007

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass.-Williams College (2-0, 2-0), ranked #9 in the latest NSCAA National Poll, tallied both of their scores just 3:58 in the second half and were able to hold on for a NESCAC 2-0 victory against an improving Connecticut College (1-2, 0-2) team. The Camels were out-shot by a 9-to-7 margin in what was a closely contested battle of conference rivals. Junior keeper Ted Lane had five saves in the contest and provided a highlight for Camel fans with a sprawling save of a penalty kick in the 39th minute of play.

The Camels will renew their Whaling City rivalry with the Coast Guard Academy this Wednesday. The game will be played under the lights at 7:00 p.m. Spectators are reminded to have proper photo identification to gain admission to the academy.
