Thank you for your interest in Great Beginnings, a Centennial celebration of Connecticut College ideas, to be presented Oct. 22, 2011, in Palmer Auditorium. If you have an idea, story, discovery, transforming experience or historical perspective that you would like to present at this event, please use this form to tell us about it or you may e-mail your proposal as a Word document to centennial@conncoll.edu. The deadline for proposals is April 15.

The usable stage area for performance elements is 38 feet wide by 8 feet deep.
Describe the connection of the topic to the Connecticut College experience and/or “Great Beginnings” theme

Proposed Length (maximum 10 minutes)
Other relevant details, comments or questions

The final lineup of presentations and performances will be chosen to:


- Highlight as many significant aspects of the Connecticut College experience as possible

- Represent key College constituencies

- Honor the college’s history, while also looking forward

- Provide a well-produced and engaging audience experience


If your proposal is selected, you will be asked to submit the text and production requirements by Aug. 1 and to complete any requested revisions over the summer. Rehearsals will be held on campus in September and then on Oct. 20-21. If it is not feasible for you to be on campus for the September rehearsals, you will be expected to rehearse your segment on your own in advance of the weekend. Some funding will be available to support travel to campus and/or accommodations.
