Diggin´ in: Alaya Morning ’06, Cornelius Hardenbergh ’07, Matt Turcotte ’02, Sarah Barr.
May 13, 2005
A new student club has sprouted up and stolen that very action as its name. "Sprout" was created to tackle the college's first sustainable garden, which is being planted next to 360 House. Co-chairs are Anne Lind '06 and Anna Meyer '07.
Ben Tressler '05 has been hired as the arboretum's summer sustainability intern and will manage the garden over the summer. The arbo also has donated 100 feet of deer fencing.
Digging into the freshly delivered soil on May 13 are, left to right, Alaya Morning '06, Cornelius Hardenbergh '07, Matt Turcotte '02, campus environmental coordinator, and Sarah Barr, associate director of the Holleran Center for Community Action and Public Policy.
The CC Green Living, Connecticut College Arboretum and Holleran Center Web sites illustrate the College's role as an environmental model campus.
